I been making this recipe for the last year and the crew goes crazy for it! The only thing that was not included in the pic that i use is NLS growth. There is no issues with it binding since i am using the shrimp, calcium, TCB and the NLS pellets.

I hope so! I'm trying my best to be a good fish daddy! Their tank is all setup and just waiting for them.

On a side note I fed my other fish some of the BH mix last night and they loved it.

That stuff looks like it would make the water all nasty! I'm finally making a beef heart mixture today, well buffalo heart. Hope they like it.

OK, I have tried a few different deals and my discus prefer just straight beef heart like what you buy at petco (fresh beef heart is not carried around here.)

At any rate would it be better to process through a food processor out or grinder?

I'm a little lost. If you buy the frozen type at PEtco, it is probably already mixed, and not just pure beef heart. Look closely at the ingredients. I would think buying frozen like that you would just thaw, then feed, no food processor required.

And I have only ever used my little food processor, it worked fine, but I have nothing to compare it to.

I used my grinder attachment for my Kitchen aide. It worked great! My fish love it.

Please post a link to your favourite recipe - thanks!

IMO...Vern's recipe is possibly the best mix I have ever made.

I will have to check what all is actually in the premade frozen stuff.

I was referring to making my own, not using the frozen beef heart cubes as my base

    how about this :

    High Protein mix = BH+Shrimp+Fish+Gelatin
High Fiber mix = Watever green you have got in the fridge that week -> if your fishes hate it, deep fried it and feed to the kids (Call it TEMPURA style)
