Sexing discus by behavior

Hello all. I just added a new fish to my main tank and noticed one of my females was doing a whole lot of tail shaking in front of the new one. I have watched her do this when courting another known male. Is this a indication that the new added fish is a male? Haven't ever noticed my females doing this to another female. It would sure be nice if it is a male as I am female heavy with only two known males. Thank you for any input

Females shimmying is part of the courtship with males. IF your known female had taken an interest in the new fish then its most likely a male.

Oh nice that's great news. Now hopefully he will pair with one I hope he does. Have a red scarlet that absolutely hates one of my males, it is definitely interesting to watch the different behaviors and temperments

Just wondering if you quarantined the new fish before adding to the main tank?

Yes they were quarantined almost a month. The one started getting really food aggressive, wasn't letting the other one eat. Put them in my big tank and that put them in there place right quick. Seem to be getting along really well with all the others.
