Pat their posture looks similar to some of the footage i have of discus in the wild hanging out almost motionless under overhangs or root balls, almost like they’re waiting for food to drift by…perhaps wild behavior replicated in captivity as they acclimate and adjust to life in a tank. At any rate, they certainly seem relaxed and unphased in your care

Thank you Danny for your observations, I have never seen domestic discus do this but then I have not kept too many domestic discus.

Sad moment here Went to do WCs this morning and found one of the RSGs dead. I pulled it out of the tank and it was a recent death as it was still flexible. Maybe it spooked when I turned on the room lights which is part of the normal routine. I did turn out the lights over the tank last night and I normally leave the tank light on the moon setting at night. Anyway pretty bummed about it All the other fish look great and are eating well!
