We had a tornado last Sunday night. Sirens never went off and I was outside on the front porch watching the storm when all the sudden the winds started swirling all around me, but I didn't directly feel much wind at all. I heard trees snapping and a transformer about 50 yards away from me blew and sent sparks shooting all over the place. It turned out the tornado snapped several utility poles. If you could imagine looking up from the ground into the center of a tornado, that's what it felt like, although it was 11:30 at night and I couldn't see much other than through the lightening strikes. Fortunately, my house was spared any new damage after the hail storm a week earlier that destroyed my roof and car, but people all around me suffered lots of tree damage. It took the weather people 2 days to determine that a small EF1 tornado did hit the area and stayed on the ground for 2 1/2 miles right through the city.
So today, I'm looking at storm clean up
This is the house right across the street from me.
