I have some Bloody Mary's, Al. Shoot me a PM.
Hi all,
Im looking for shrimp.. cherry shrimp and other shrimp bred by hobbyists here. I Recently got a bunch from Tom (Iminit) Thanks again Tom! That are doing really well and I want to bump up the genetic diversity there with cherries from another source. Also have another empty tank for other shrimp as well. Anyone breeding and selling shrimp?

I'm really not sure but I he does have a bunch of red ones as well as some other rare ones. I'll ask him next time we talk.

These were billed as bloody Mary’s but I can’t tell if it’s the shell or flesh that make such a beautiful red color. Liz- any suggestions to differentiate painted fire reds from bloody Mary’s short of culling and dissection?
I have no idea. But if they're so red that even their little legs are red, I consider them to be Bloody Mary's. You have excellent shrimp. Do you have to keep up with culling? I do. Mine produce a small number of light grey shrimp. I feed my culls to the Discus. The Discus don't care what color the shrimp are. You have a beautiful group of shrimp.

Thanks Liz. I haven’t gotten any wild types. I give less red males to my kids shrimp tanks
Liz was kind enough to send me some of her bloody Mary shrimp (Thank you Liz!)..Once they settle in, I will try and take some macro shots of them and the Cherry Shrimp I got from Tom (Thanks again Tom!). From what I read aside from the color of the flesh being different there should be some differences in the shell length/shape.

I had no idea. Mine were sold to me as bloody mary's. I hope they turn out to be what they're supposed to be.

Hi Al, long time no "see". man I wish was here earlier about a week ago clean up my cherry shrimp collection down to only a dozen as I sold them up to a LFS leaving only about a dozen of the good looking ones, be careful as they breed like crazy . I do feed them to my Discus like Liz does but still is a lot of work , and only take a red female or a couple of them that are carrying eggs from a grey guy or not so red male (males are always lighter) and you get flooded with culls again.
Breeding , interest and goals Wilds Heckels and Cuipeuas and a few Domestics pairs with occasional fry as well as Angels fancy Plecos , corys and shrimps.
Your culls will be a desirable treat for your adult Discus. It's fun to watch the Discus hunt them down.
