I am giving this thread a bump to remind everyone as to the use and purpose of the disease board. Kindly read through the first post if you have not done so in the past.
Also there is misconception that the disease questionnaire is not required. First off, it was never required BUT it is strongly encouraged. Otherwise we would just remove that pretty little red banner at the top of this section.
The disease questionnaire serves several purposes; first off the OP needs to sit down and think about what the issue(s) are, write them down, make the required tests and maybe take pictures or video to illustrate the issue. A properly filled out questionnaire also offers other members a sound basis on which to offer advice, ask further questions or even identify obvious husbandry issues on the part of the OP.
So please if you make use of the disease board fill out the questionnaire as completely and honestly as possible. If you made a mistake just own up to it and lets get the right help for your fish. The sooner you can provide an accurate picture of your fish and their issues the better chance you can be given advice which might save the life of your fish. Discus are expensive to buy and even more expensive to replace.
On a last note if your given unsolicited advice privately via PM. Please consider the source of that advice and ask yourself why that advice is not being posted in your disease thread. If someone doesn't have enough confidence in their advice to post it publicly, for confirmation or criticism, then you shouldn't have any confidence in that advice.
Enough said,
Pat
