Anyone can tell me about this

I have a blue diamond female for 6 to 7 years now, and two years ago she lost her male partner and since then she would not take up with any other male.
She is my favorite because she is my original fish also she is a beautiful fish. Since her male died her stomach has become concave where the production of eggs would be.
She is happy and eats well so I retired her with another older fish that she gets along with.
My question is has anyone else have this happen to them.

Well something new on this. The female must have taken a liken to this male because today she spawned, shocking me since she hasn't spawned in such a long time but I'm glad which means she's happy
