So the new little ones are esatblishing the pecking order in their new tank. I have have 3 marl reds that are a little bigger than a quarter and 2 german blues that are much smaller. The marl reds though have been in a fierce turf battle the last 2 days and its getting ugly! noone wants to back down. They keep lip-locking and trying to smack each other with their tails. The german blues stay out of it and hang together at the other end of the tank. This usually happens when there is food in the tank. There is no signs of injury and everyone is getting plenty of food. Should I be concerned?
so you say you have some discus and their fighting? lol
Its nice how everything you read calls discus "peaceful" lol!
Ive seen worse than you described... lol...
One word.... Cichlid!
Yeah, I was just thinking yesterday, why does that Penang Eruption constantly try to peck out the Blue Scorpions eye. Seriously, the eye probably wont last much longer or develop an infection. My killers might be the exception though, they are like trained killers only they aren't tame.
Eddie
it's like west side story in my freakin' tank! I hope noone gets shanked!
Peacfull?,gracefull? Discus are thugs !!!
The crips and the bloods originated from Blue discus and Red Discus preference. The gang crips only kept blue diamonds, blue turqs, cobalts etc while the Bloods only kept mandarin passions, fire reds and rgds. These gangs are all about there discus colors. They would go do drivebys then come home and do 80% water changes
Dont Let your passion turn into an Obsession
"Frank Mir"
i have heard the same thing about flower horns, and the characters being gang related symbols... now there is a fish that would do some damage
ha just noticed you wrote mandarin passion while referring to a gang, now thats classic... kinda like the pink flamingos
"Life is hard..... after all it kills you"
It is what it is!
