The difference between ppm and mg/l

I have no ammonia tests that have a ppm...only mg/l

Is there a difference in those readings?

Boy I take up alot of space...

No $h1t Sherlock. The point was the ammonia reading needs to be 0. It doesn't matter in its measured in ppm, mg/l or monkeys in a barrel.

A liter of water weighs 1000 grams.

A milligram is one thousandth of a gram or 0.001 gram.

So one milligram, or 0.001 gram, divided by one liter, or 1000 grams, is the same as 1/1,000,000 which is the definition of part per million......

thank you for clearing that up, I was told that 1ppm and 1mg/l where different.
