Are you talking about the thing on the anal fin or the white dot on the body? ( pic #1)

Can't really see enough definition on the second pic to see anything.

On pic #2 - are they little tiny holes or bumps above the surface, because from here it looks like the normal sensory holes.

    See what others think...

Oh and is he laying down?
    Good luck,

Your Crackin' me up here Graham for starters !!! I like your Straight forwardness my friend !! LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are right though.. I kind of took a quicky shot here and tried to get up close.
I was in a bit in a hurry.. This one is now feeding and looks fine so, I don't know,
tough call.. I do know thought they shouldn't be laying like that unless they are stressed to an extent. They have had a bit of a fluke Problem and I am going to most likely get them back on a program . ( PP most likely) for starters. BIG TUCK did mention something about a 21 day treatment here but I'm not sure what that all ment?
Was that back to back days for 21 total ? which seems extremly hard on these guys..
Or alternating days or ???? Been through a Prazi treatment program already a while back. Another thing, I am going to completly disinfect this 50 gal. Acrylic tank.
I think it was "Brewmaster" that mentioned about totally dumping the Sponge filters and replacing with new? Did I interpret this correctly? I don't quit understand that though.. Why not just NUKE the heck out of the Sponges? I thought that would kill
off everything ??? Anyways, just learning like everyone else........

    Mark,
I think you may want to back off the meds... I'm not sure I follow this...

WC's 2 x per day on these guys 2 50% per Pre cylced
Are you aging it?.. I see a ton of gas bubbles in your last set of pics here...thats a sign that the waters not aged well or at all.....and That can really stress out fish if you are doing large wcs... It can also irritate the gills and seem like a fluke issue as the bubbles you see everywhere are also on the fish surface...

I'd go back to the basics and look at your water.

    -al

ps... also don't do PP treatments 21 days In a row, or even other day for 21 days!!!!!....That 21 day treatment was based on other medicines and dosing every other day so that you catch the flukes and all hatching eggs. It may have its origins in Dieter untergassers Discus Health Book( don't quote me...as my copy is out on loan and in limbo!)

Thanks for the better pics and I still don't see anything wrong, other than the bubbles that Al mentioned

Good Eye here AL, and yes, 99% of the time I age all my water 50 gal barrell treated
with API tap water conditioner w/ heater and Powerhead..
This particular time, I forgot to turn on the Power head..... My Mistake .........
This was the 2nd WC of the day.. but like I said, I am very particular about this in general... Out of the tap here we are pretty lucky PH @ 7.0 on the average....
I religously, do WCs on all my tanks 2 x per day and on this Particular tank with the Semi adults, I am doing 75% 2 x per day ( NEVER out of the Tap direct )

I was going to mention a few things here. These pictures I sent were after
WCs and Visually I can see where there looks to be no problems in general but,
believe me, what's happening here is they are basically reverting back to
gills expanding moreso, Darkness, darting more or basically more scared and
hinding more so under those Filters etc.. I have been through several treatments with these guys over the course of a few months now..
Did a full Prazi Pro treatment 1-2 wk. treatment a month ago, and did a PP
treatment, 6 days ago.. They start to look much better overall and are more out and about freeswimming etc. I can always tell something is up when they tend to start huddling more and a few ( illustrated in the last pictures here )
will hide under those Sponge filters like I mentioned. The GILL Fillaments
are out a little on a couple of them including the one laying down in the picture.
Even though you can't see it. I took a magnify glass and it was evident...
After WCs, yup most tend to purk up more.. They are all eating fine in general.. BH, BWs, Flakes..... They are not breathing REAL heavy I might add but once again those gills are out a bit more than they should be...
After WCs not as evident once again... Gills more enclosed and actually look fine but that lasts for just a while. Fustrating overall...

So you normally age your water and you didn't this time and your fish looked stressed. Seems to me that it's clearly the difference of using straight tap. As Al stated, there may be too much gas in your water if not aged. There was a member on here that was fighting flukes for quite a while and it turned out to be gas bubbles in there water.
