An idea.....You can also use 1 boiled egg yolk..........mash it into dry paste.
1 raw egg (yolk and white), beat it thoroughly.....
Add drops of raw to paste to get proper thickness.

    Hi Al
Yes it is for raising fry. Cliff says I have to have it. I only have\had 21 fry so do to not being able to find this I put then in with a pair that I have in their own tank and either they are hiding or they are gone. Most likely gone. I tried to raise them last minute so I was not really set up to do so. I will start to build up the things I need and try it the rite way next time.

    Hi Mikscus
I read that in an artical by watley. Cliff said I needed the bakers yolk as it has an antifungal ingredient. If I cant find it an a reasonably small quanity I will have to try the real yolk method.

    Hi Earl,
I have never used bakers Yolk when I artificially raised them, I used watleys method... one yolK boiled + 1 Yolk raw..and some spirulina powder....worked well for me ...But Cliff does this regularly and has a good system in place....so I would follow his advice... maybe you could buy some from him or get it where he gets his?

    hth,

You can add 2-3 drops of methyl blue for antifungal.

The meth-blue would work....but I'd avoid using any egg white. Egg albumin, from what I understand, is one of the most difficult things to digest. I have used just raw egg yolk many times. I just smeared the inner rim of the feeding bowls with it and set them in the fridge till the yolk dried. To use them, just fill till the water level covers sufficient yolk. the water will make the yolk slimey again.

If you use a white container, you can also stick some black electrical tape to the outside where you have the yolk mix to attract fry to feed.
