    What kind of cones are these?, and Can I use them for tannins? Found in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Tropical weather.

    Guazuma ulmifolia, commonly known as West Indian elm


    Not sure if they are safe for an aquarium.

    From what I can find of literature online, those aren't actually cones but dried fruits that have fallen from the Indian West Elm tree - likely not aquarium safe.
