I’m with Elliot. I would love a tankful of that mom fish. I was in awe first time I saw one and couldn’t stop staring at it. I’m gaga over a lot of the wilds now. I consider it my bucket list fish. At least that’s how I’m going to explain it to hubby. Ha ha

These guys are doing great. I think they might have grown a bit. They are in a divided 40 breeder with one %100 WC a day (about 30 gallons). I am also vacuuming the bottom a couple times a day. They are eating pre-soaked FDBW fines.

Just remember Pat, my offer has no expiration date
Seriously though, I would love to see how they develop! Please continue to take pictures! I already know you are great at uploading pictures but just really wanted to but an emphasis on this batch out of my own greed!

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
About ten days ago I noticed that some of the F1s appears to developing oddly. It seems like the forehead was out growing the chin area giving the appearance of a parrots beak in the head area. I conferred with Brian and Al. Al suggested that perhaps I was power feeding and/or there was a deficiency in the diet. Basically too much protein and not enough carbs. Al suggested adding some veggie flakes.
So immediately I started two things, I started up the BBS machine, ordered some veggie flake and added a second daily water change. I also cut out the FDBW fines I was feeding. The fish are loving that second water change and overall the fish are looking way better. So now they are getting several feedings of flake including the veggie flake and two heavy feeding of BBS. This is from last night.

Between you and Al these fish should turn out spectacular.
I look forward to your next update ;-)
