The past 2 days have seen some big changes! They are no longer hiding, and are actually greeting me when I walk in the room. Their favorite food is most definitely beef heart. They attack it pretty good!!
I would post pictures but they look about the same, except they are noticeably larger. I expect to transfer them to a 20g within the next week or two.
I'll post a video as soon as i figure out how to do it.
I don't have a youtube account, but I see most videos here have a youtube affiliation so maybe I'll create one...
Great news Brian . You seem to be on the right track right now .
Let's see if this works... Definitely have a bully in the group, lol...

Some are showing no stress bars at all, but I think I have 7 SS and 2 Turks.
No big news for now. They are just eating and growing, the largest about quarter size and smallest about a nickel.
They certainly are no longer shy about water changes. Here they are attacking beef heart during a water change...

Here's my hi-tech bbs hatchery
The house is being remodeled so I'm using a little bit of each room for my discus, including the kitchen counter!
The air pump is next to the coffee maker and foodsaver. I put in a shutoff valve near the pump, then added a T to split off to the hatchery and a drain. The drain also has a shutoff. When I want to harvest bbs, i shut off the air and let them settle. The open the valve on the drain and drain them into a bbs net. Shut off the drain and open the air again...
It's ugly but it works!!

Is the base DIY Brian?

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
No. I got them years ago from Brine Shrimp Direct.

If I want to add another hatchery, I just add more T's and shut offs and drains...
That is a nice inexpensive solution
