Hi Bryon, Welcome to SimplyDiscus, sorry about your loss and nice setup of driftwood.
Hello from Savannah. I'm Bryon, I've been keeping discus for around 5 years or so. Currently have a 75 gallon that was a planted tank with 6 discus. I had a disaster with the substrate and lost 5 of my 6 discus unfortunately. I've since scrapped the planted tank and went with a very thin layer of sand and driftwood. I have one lone 5" Heckle discus in there with some tetras,2 rams and sterbai corys. I plan on doing an order for 6 more discus to add to the 75.
Hi Bryon, Welcome to SimplyDiscus, sorry about your loss and nice setup of driftwood.

Thank you. I really like the new manzanita wood too. I'm posting from my phone and it appears my pictures are upside down. Once I get on a computer I'll see if I can't rotate them.
Welcome to Simply. I'm sorry to hear about your disaster. I love the wood, very pretty and dramatic.
Did you loose 5 heckles in your mishap??!? That's a nice looking heckle...
Care to tell us more about your disaster as maybe someone else can benefit from your issues?
2 of them were Heckles the others were red turquoise. What I believe happened was I had placed substrate ferts under my Amazon sword plants. They were home made osmocote plus root tabs in gel caps. I had a ton of snails and I believe they burrowed in the substrate and released the root tabs. I work 24 hour shifts at the fire house and was not home to see. I came home and found them. It was a big eye opener and will not make that mistake again. I still do high tech planted tanks but I'm keeping it separate from Discus.
Welcome to Simply Bryon.
