Great "SPOT"!! Hans is one in a million! My hats off!! 'T'
Discus Hans!
What can I say?
I have had the pleasure of knowing Hans-unfortunately only over the internet-for many years.
I first corresponded with him when I set up "Australian Discus Breeders" about 15 years ago.
We had many a great discussion in that time. I will never forget the photo he put up of his van full of buckets
with discus in them.
He is a genuine gentleman and a great ambassador for the discus hobby and trade. My time on this rock has been all the
better for knowing him.
God bless you, you old pimp! may you live long and prosper.:D
Robert
Thanks everybody for the very nice reactions, my head size just grew 4 sizes lol lol
For the yellow Discus, Stendker doesn't breed (or colors them) yellow Discus, so I don't sell them,
Hans
Who is this Hans guys so many people are raving about:confused:
With that said...that was a great spot-light interview Hans.... and Paul very well put together:)
Even when not around or thinking about Discus my thought about this special person never escapes because my youngest daughter shares the same B-Day August 16 and my mind will wonder just to a group of Jumbo Stendker Brilliants in my tank.
As I have said many times before....I will make the trip one day and finally meet Hans and bring home that group of Discus I dream about.
Cheers :D

As a rookie in the Discus hobby, I learned about Hans through Simply while doing my research before jumping in blindly. I found out Hans was just a short 1 hour drive up the road from me. The decision was made to start in this hobby with Stendkers from Hans. I really had no idea what a legend Hans was at the time, after all, this man took the time to help me and spend time with me, there is no way a world renowned legend would have time for me!
Well, I have come to learn, I am not special, Hans is though. I am extremely lucky I am starting in this hobby with such a great guy. Thank you to Simply Discus for introducing us!
One of the best things Hans taught me, and probably saved some fish, is that Discus will do what they will, and there is not always an answer for these crazy fish. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing and see what happens.
Hans, you babies are all doing well and are pushing 4.5", 2 months in. I can't wait (but will be patient for the fish's sake) to send you pics when they are GIANTS in full color!
I'll be back in a couple months for 15 more, 2.5 inchers!
Enough everybody....... Stop telling Hans how great he is. Just think about poor Joanne, she has to live with him day in and day out. :D
Ralph & Greg Thanks.
Klaus I know you love my wife more as me, and....... right you are, I do too lol lol
Hans
Hans, without you I have know idea where I would be in the world of discus.
You are welcome Vincent. See you soon again.
Hans

Hans is great and has beautiful, beautiful fish!!
Thanks for all of the help
Rick, it was great meeting you, that's just one of the great things of the NADA shows, meeting Discus people.
Geoff, you're more as welcome.
Hans
There's only one thing I can add to all that's been said about Hans, besides what's been said about him being a great friend, unselfish, willing to spend time with one and all, working with the kids, generous, and giving. And that is that he always, always, always puts his customers first. There's no doubt about that. If he even suspects that some fish are not in tip top shape, he'll take a loss and protect his customer base. So when you buy from Hans, you know that you are getting the very best, top quality discus available.
