really nice
Josie those fish look awesome!! how big they are?
very nice!
Wow, you have done a excellent job thus far. This is exactly the outcome that happens when a hobbyist actually gives the proper TLC for fish and not lets them go to waste!!!!
Someone suggested that I post their diet, feeding schedule and how often I clean the tank.
Diet,
They (and all my discus) are fed beef heart mix twice a day once in the morning and once at night right before cleaning. The beef heart mix consists of the following.
Beef heart organic grass fed (cleaned trimmed and deveined)
Whole Sea Salmon from the sea wild caught not frozen
Extra large Gulf shrimp from the sea not farmed raised wild caught
Cyclop-eeze frozen (not dried)
Collard greens boiled down and then let air dry on the counter before making the mix
Bananas and plantains
Berries (from the Amazon river bank)
Liquid vitamins (health food store)
Omega-3 fish oil
Prime reef flakes
Garlic powder
Freeze dried Black worms once a day
Sera Discus granules once a day
Live brine shrimp (adult size) rinsed cleaned and soaked for an hour in fine spirulina powder then fed. Once a day
After the first beef heart feeding at least a 80% water change most get 100% walls, tubes tank bottom get a good wipe down.
After the last feeding all the waste from the day gets taken out usually about a 50% water change
Ok that’s what I do :).......Josie
what do you think of feeding discus dried bananas or let's say ground almonds?
