Well ... my first issue since getting my fish 2 weeks ago. Concerned about my Tiger Panda. Since I have had it, it has always been breathing faster than the others. Seems to predominantly breathe on one side, but have seen at times use both sides or switch sides. Actually a few other do the same, switching breathing sides but not a noticeable as the Tiger Panda. It is eating FDBW, swims around at times with the others but now is hanging out alone towards the top corner up front. Reason I am posting today is I notices a long thin clearish poop coming out of it approx 3 inches long. I was adding salt (1 tbsp/10 gal) for the first week but have stopped that currently. Here is a pic of the poop as well a video link showing the breathing.

DISEASE QUESTIONNAIRE
Problem
1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
Issue explained at beginning of post
2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
Fast breathing only mostly using 1 side but will switch sides from time to time. Long stringy clearish poop
3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.
None - was adding salt the 1st week I had them but have stopped.
Tank/Water
4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
80gallon tank, 8, 4-4.5" mixed discus
5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
Did 50% every day the first week, doing 50% every other day currently
6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
2 months, super thin PFS substrate (fish can actually blow it away to the bottom when eating). Depth is less than 1/8"
7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
Age water in 44 gal brute for 24 to 48 hours. No PH swing. Added 1 cup crushed coral to filter to stabilize PH. Noticed it was dropping in tank slightly between WC. Since adding coral Im not seeing any PH swing in tank.
8. What type/brand water conditioner do you use? Do you add it to the tank or aging barrel? How much do you use?
Prime added to aged water 5 min prior to pumping it to the tank. Use 1 capful
9. Parameters and water source;
Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.
- temp ___86__
- ph ___7__
- ammonia reading __0__
- nitrite reading __0__
- nitrate reading __5__
What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.
- well water ____
- municipal water __100%__
- RO water ____
10. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
NO
11. Please tell us what you feed your fish and how often. This can be critical information for solving the problem so be as specific as you can.
Feed 2X per day (morning/evening) Feed Al's FDBW. 1 cube per feeding. Have eaten 2 cubes but 1 cube seems enough as they look fat after and feeding frenzy slows.
12. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.
I hope someone can shed somone light on this for me as what I need to do. I have invested a lot in this hobby and want to be successful at it long term. Thanks in advance.
