I move a pair from my main tank and moved to a 20 bb tanks with a sponge filter and a heater. Heat is 85

They are so scared? Moved them last Friday night and been doing 80% water changes everyday. Very pail. Eating allittle. Hitting the walls very hard. One jumped out of tank before I had the cover on. I addEd little salt. The one who jumped out was laying one her side for a bit look kinda like a eye injury.

I can take a picture with I get home

one thing I am worried about is I bought the 20gal on craiglist not sure what they had in there before????

I did clean with bleach like 3 times and let dry.

Sounds like toxins, did you get all the bleach out? 3 times is a bit overkill IMO. Aside from letting it dry, I like to soak the tank in a strong sodium thiosulfate/water mix to neutralize any residual bleach.

Update:

they on day 6 and still very skiddish,

I've still doing 90% WC's.

Is it possible they just don't like moving from a 55 to 20?

You might try moving the whole tank. Sometimes a bad location with lots of shadows, traffic etc will cause them to spook very easily.

do 50% water changes for a couple of days to see if that will bring them around.
i did a 90% water change on my juvies and they have been running everytime i come close to the tank, so i decided to go back to the 40% water change everyday and they are starting to come around now as long as i don't move to fast by the tank. it took 5 days for them to not run everytime i walk by.

Cover the bottom? Like with a towel under the tank?

you could paint or put some kinda sticker like this http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=19785. or you could add some white foam may be so the not so shy. any way how's you main tank bottom set up? sand or paint?
