Hi,

I have tried to contact AP Aquarium Products reguarding a question on their product but their phone line as been disconnected. The site has not been updated for more than a year and they don't reply to email inquiries either.

This is the company which make Quick cure, Clout, Live beared antiflukes and many other good aquarium products.

Anyone know what's going on with them?

thanks.

I don't think they are out of business, I think they have been purchased by "Mars Fishcare"..the answering machine there indicates that..maybe they are in transition....If you really want to contact them, follow the telephone cues to their dealer support that should get you to a real customer service person..or at least their mailbox.

from the website...

Hours of Operation:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time (Monday through Friday)

Product/Technical Support: (800) 847-0659

I just called that 800 phone number that you gave (800) 847-0659 and the man on the phone said that they did not buy Aquarium Products and that we'll never get Clout or other products manufactured by AP from them.

Wierd!

They do own API which is Aquarium Pharmaceuticals.

Yup Al, here is an article on it. The article is from Sept last year but its title "To Acquire" so it may have not been too long ago.

Ok that's really good to know. I just read the article and I am happy that they did not just closed. Such good products!

thanks for the link, very interesting reading.

It was also interesting to read this:

"Scharf says a good example of new technology is Gel-Tek, a product
line of medications that features a feeding pheromone that entices
tropical and freshwater fish to eat the gel, allowing them to recover
from illness quicker."

A feeding pheromone? for fish that won't eat. Might be useful for discus if it works.
