Differece: blue diamond and blue saphire

What's the differece, if any, between a Blue Diamond and a Blue Saphire?

Too put it Simply the color of the Blue Sapphire is Prettier, at least IMHO! :p

I do not own any Sapphire's, I have Blue Diamond's but I do like the look of the Sapphire's better. :o

The Blue Sapphires, in my experience, don't tend to darken up if the background is dark. The blue diamonds' fins, in particular, tend to turn an inky blue. I think the sapphires are a nicer blue as well. This is one of my sapphires:

Yeah, the sapphires have a more metallic sheen to them which seems to show off the color better. It may not be he norm, but I purchased 12 BD little ones, and was disappointed at the way they grew out. Some had better color, and no 2 were even the same size. I got a dozen quarter size sapphires, and they are still growing at 3", but are doing 10 times better as the BD's did in the same tank under the same conditions. Both batches of fish came from quality breeding stock.
