Hey Guys ~

Some of you know that I had a tank full of ill discus but all treatments are complete and they are doing well!

My questions is when would it be okay to add things to this tank in the way of decorations and sand and plants? I am wanting to put back all that I took out ~ I can wait ~ if need be ....if this hobby has taught me nothing it has taught me patience make no mistake about that! And patience is so not one of my virtues~

Thanks!

I would give it a few months, but in the case of the Rio Linda vase, a few years.

Larry, I don't know if she can see you but I think you'd better stay hidden for awhile, because in case you didn't notice, Marie didn't even center her response! :D :D :D That can't be good for you... :D

I think you're in for it now, better run...

Hi Marie:

You should be able to put all your deco back now after disinfecting them. Just boil them in hot water for 20 min should do it :) Hope you have a lobster pot handy! Since you are such a cleanaholic I doubt you will have any problem with deco in your tank!

HTH,
Sandeep

I would leave it all out for now. Mainly to "better to be safe than sorry". You can add it all back in 2-3 weeks

Hi, Marie - I don't see why you can't put your stuff back now, including the Rio Linda vase (apparently Larry's favorite ;) ). You can boil the stuff, or if you don't want to bother doing that, you can just put your stuff in a bucket or pail, cover with water, add a little chlorine into the water (it takes very little chlorine to disinifect) and let the stuff soak for a bit, the chlorine will kill any bacteria/algae etc. right away, but you can wait 24 hrs. for it to dissipate. Then just to be on the safe side, add some dechlorinator to your bucket.

Connie

P.S. - I think I see Larry, peeking out from behind the corner... He's wearing a disguise... :bandana: Just don't tell him I ratted him out, okay? :wasntme:

Yep, clean well and if you are still nervous, just add a few things for now if you are worried about stressing them and let them get used to it and then add some more, etc....
