These pics aren't the best as this new camera (old one took a dump) has so many bells and whistles that I don't know how to use them all yet.

I ordered 11 fish from jeff and they were supposed to be 3", but they ended up being quite a bit bigger, so I had to sell off a few to have room in my tank. Here's a Mandarin passion. Do you think it's a boy or girl?

not sure on teh boy and girl bit..ive been teased mercilessly for getting the sex thing wrong. usually the male has a wider tail fin. have you got eggs that were fertile? you didnt see who layed them?

I've had them since February I think. The MP was around 4 to 5 inches at the time and now is over 6 inches.

I know which is female and male, I was just seeing if you guys could tell from appearance. And yes, the eggs are fertile, if only mommy wouldn't eat them up >:(

Ginial's right. the MP is the male. I've looked on this site about sexing and all of the cues seem to be true. So far so good, the eggs have not been eaten and most of them appear to be fertilized. I'm sure the babies will all turn out to be ugly peppered pigeons, but hopefully I can raise some up and maybe get a gem or two out of the batch. :D
