I kept about 8 discus froma brood that hatched a year ago. One in particular has reached an incredible size compared to his siblings (7" not including tail....very round and thick).

He developed a long tail at the tip of his dorsal fin just like his mother. But his kept growing. And splitting. I'd say the stran is now anout 5 " long and has split about 6 times...it's quite sight.

I never seen anything like it. I've seen tails before but not like this.

Has anyone else seen this in discus? What is your opinion on the dorsal tail? Does it detract from beauty of the discus itself?

Just wondering if there was a right answer or a "in the eye of the beholder" answer.... ;D
