View Full Version : Corydoras catfish, How many is the correct amount?

Might be a silly question. I just wanted to ask - is there a correct amount of corydoras for a Discus tank?
Is there a Number pre every hundred gallons? Or possibly so many cory's vs so many Discus?
Just don't want to buy to many for my 400G tank.

Regarding cories.... which type? And you have a wide range for quantity with that much space. Just remember to maybe lean towards warmer water cories. I like smaller ones because they can get in even tighter spaces for missed food.

Minimum of 6 and then 1 per 10 gallons for 55 - 125 gallon tanks would be my thoughts. No clue for a 400-gallon tank.

I keep 3 dozen C. sterbai in a 110-gal tank, which has a relatively small footprint (48" X 18"), and they're doing fine in there.

PS - Ignore the old stocking - tank is 8 foot wide X 3 foot deep & 30 " tall

With all the water changes and beefheart, these guys spawn a lot. But there's no way to pull eggs from a tank ~30" deep. :confused:
