Hello all just had something happen that I've never seen. Today I did a 60% a few hours ago. All my discus were swimming around the tank everything seemed fine. I did my afternoon feeding of beefheart, about 5 minutes after all the food was done one of my discus started floating on its side sunk to the bottom of tank and died in 5 minutes. I've had this fish since 2014 it was one of the biggest discus I had. All the other fish are fine so far. Has anyone experienced anything like and what could have happened?

I have had experienced it in the past due to lack of proper care.

I don't think proper care was an issue the fish seemed to be very healthy before it happened

How often do you change water? What do you add? Did you forget to add prime? do you age water? Did you check with your water supply company to see if anything was added?

Is your BH ground very fine so that something can not get wedged?

Change 60% of water every other day used safe to dechloronate and age water overnight i think it had something to do with food it was my beefheart mix that I've fed many times before

I heard that somewhere too so I'm not surprised. That's why I only feed flakes or crumbles.

Blue Diamonds seem to have some type of intestinal abnormality that causes them problems when they gorge themselves. Was it by any chance a BD?
