Buying different sized discus

When setting up a large aquarium, and buying 12 or so discus is it alright to mix 4.5" fish with 6" fish. Its hard to find larger fish in the different strains to buy at the same time and same size compared to juveniles. Any thoughts?

Should be fine. There will always be aggression in the group.
